    Control V Is Not Working
    1. Ctrl C Not Working Windows 8
    2. Control V Not Working In Cmd

I have an HP envy laptop less than 6months old operating on windows 8 and my Ctrl key doesn't work as it should.I know the Ctrl key itself is not broken as it works when pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete or Ctrl + Left mouse key to open links in new tab and Ctrl + P to print. However the shortcuts as Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + X don't work at all. This is the case in all programmes including word, Excel and Firefox.Ctrl + Insert and Shift + Insert do work for copy and paste function but frankly they are far less convenient.Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated as it's very frustrating.Thank you. Hello jc84ox,You’re not able to use your copy and paste function.Go to device manager and uninstall the keyboard. Hi krzysiek033,The only thing that we can really do on the software side of things is looking at uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers.

I would recommend downloading the drivers first. You will use Device Manager to uninstall the keyboard. Look for Synaptics TouchPad or something similar.Uninstalling via Device Manager:Keyboard Drivers:=If that doesn't work then it is a hardware issue, give HP Total Care a call at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or visit the link below if you are outside North America.

    Working

Jul 05, 2017  I will agree with the spidy senses, these types of issues with 8/10 are becoming more and more prevalent. I've had them myself, like windows keys not working, not being able to right click, etc and OS reinstall always fixed the issue. Theres def some flukey stuff going on with user and external device input on this 8/10 OS platform.

Ctrl C Not Working Windows 8

You mentioned it was a newer laptop so it should still be in warranty.Thank you. I recently had problems trying to fix an HP 2000 for a friend.Initially i thought it was a program, malware or driver problem.Turns out it was a lot of cat hair under the keyboard, i removed all the hair on the ICs/electrical components under the keyboard and this resolved the issue, couldnt vacuum the stuff off had to use masking tape to pick up all the bits of cat hair.Symptons were:All the keys worked fine individually but only SOME combinations of keys with ctrl would not work. IE Ctrl + Q worked but not Ctrl + C.If you want to check for a hardware issue what i did was to use a program which captures key strokes to see what is being sent by the keyboard.I used the following program to see whether the keys were being sentAnd to double check i booted into a Windows PE environment and ran the program.Incidentally a nice easy way to make a Windows PE boot disk/usb key is to use Macrium Reflect Free. I'm not associated with them in any way. It's a nice program which makes images of your computer for backup purposes.Im pretty impressed with the software and hope its ok for me to mention it.
